To acknowledge and celebrate World Wildlife Day, the ADB TTT Environmental Law Champions Program held a special lecture by Patti Moore on Biodiversity Law in ASEAN. This lecture contains an overview on biodiversity law by one of the most experienced environmental lawyers in the region.
Patti Moore is a true environmental law champion with more than 28 years’ international experience, working in the field of environmental law and governance across more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. She has been living and working in Asia since 1999. Much of her work has focused on building the legal basis for conserving and sustainably using biological resources. Patti was a member of the team that developed IUCN’s Guidelines for Protected Areas Legislation and most recently in South East Asia, she was part of the team that has drafted a new decree on protected areas for Lao PDR. Since 2010, she has worked with ADB to carry out assessments of the legal basis for environmental and social safeguards for more than 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. She has been working with UNICEF, UNEP, and UN Human Rights on children’s rights to a healthy environment in the Asia Pacific region since 2018.
